UE hurts La Salle's bid for Final Four spot with OT win in season-ender

The University of the East wrapped its campaign on a high note after outlasting De La Salle University in overtime, 80-72, on Saturday in UAAP Season 85 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Rey Remogat proved to be crucial in the final stretch of the game as he sank the dagger triple to give the Recto-based squad enough breathing room with 46.1 seconds left in overtime before taking the win.

After ending regulation at 68-all, the Warriors limited La Salle to four points in extra period against their 12-point output to end their season with five wins and nine losses.

Remogat tallied 24 points with a 4-of-12 clipping from beyond the arc to lead the Warriors, while Kyle Paranada listed 13 points and five rebounds.

Mark Nonoy led the Taft-based squad with 14 points off 4-of-12 triples, while Bright Nwankwo and CJ Austria chipped in 10 points each.

Wednesday's games will be crucial for both La Salle and Adamson. La Salle, which went down to 6-7, still has a game left against University of Santo Tomas. With the La Salle loss, Adamson also had the solo fourth spot with 7-6 before their match against Ateneo de Manila University.

Both La Salle and Adamson still remain in contention for the last Final Four spot.
