Stephen Loman weighs in on Lineker vs Andrade rematch

By JM SIASAT

ONE bantamweight contender Stephen Loman has his eyes set on the upcoming rematch between former ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker and Fabricio Andrade in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on February 25 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Lineker, a hard-hitting former UFC fighter, locked horns with Andrade last October in a bout that ended in a no contest after the latter landed an accidental knee to the groin. It was worth noting, however, that Lineker was losing the match until the accidental blow.

“As for Andrade, I think that he really is a KO artist,” said Loman, who is currently ranked as the No. 3 bantamweight in the world in the ONE Championship official rankings.

“He uses his striking a lot, his kicks, knees, and his pressure against Lineker was tremendous as well. He has these quick and beautiful combinations as well. I think that’s Andrade’s advantage. He’s a problem for John Lineker.”

Loman, meanwhile, is coming off his biggest career win to date following a clear-cut unanimous decision over former ONE bantamweight world champion Bibiano Fernades, who is touted as the greatest world champion in ONE Championship history.

Having gone 3-0 since signing with ONE Championship, the Team Lakay representative is expected to face the winner between Lineker vs. Andrade for the world title.
