Gilas rebounds from Cambodia loss, books SEAG semis slot with 60-point blowout of Singapore

The Philippine national men's basketball team's road back to Southeast Asian basketball supremacy remained on track as Gilas Pilipinas booked a slot in the men's basketball semifinals of the 32nd SEA Games with a 105-45 win over Singapore on Saturday.

The win came two days after host Cambodia's stunning upset win over the World Cup-bound Gilas squad.

The nationals started strong as it opened on a 21-0 run before eventually closing the first chapter at 29-5.

It was all Gilas from there as they led by as many as 63 points before getting the win.

CJ Perez registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Marcio Lassiter had 16 points. Justin Brownlee had eight assists on top of 12 points, while Jerom Lastimosa and Mike Philips added 12 points apiece.

Ng Shi Yu was the only double-digit scorer for Singapore with 10 points.

With the win, Gilas will face either Indonesia or Thailand in the semifinals on Monday.
