Mayweather downplays Roach's special gameplan for Pacquiao

Freddie Roach said he's preparing a special gameplan for Manny Pacquiao against Floyd Mayweather.

The Hall of Fame trainer express confidence anew on the red carpet before the press conference for the mega-fight.

"He's going to be in trouble. He'll fall right into our power and he'll get knocked out," said Roach.

When asked to react to Roach's remarks, Mayweather was gracious.

"I faced Freddie Roach before in the past, and of course I was victorious," Mayweather told GMA News' Connie Sison. "He's a good trainer."

Mayweather's father and trainer Floyd Sr., however, wasn't quite as generous in his opinion of Roach.

"Freddie Roach don't know boxing," the elder Mayweather said.

In any case, Roach wouldn't matter as much when Mayweather and Pacquiao are slugging it out in the ring, said Floyd Jr.

"The things that Freddie Roach is saying, he's supposed to say. But when all is said and done, it comes down to the two fighters," he said. —JST, GMA News
