Pinoy boxer Dennis Laurente to fight in Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions

OPBF junior middleweight champion Dennis Laurente is set to strut his wares at the big stage as he fights John Jackson on the undercard of Premier Boxing Champions on August 2 (August 3 PHL time) at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.

The 37-year-old southpaw, who holds a record of 49-5-5 with 30 knockouts, flew to the United States on Wednesday together with his brother and trainer, Pederito Laurente.

A come-forward southpaw known for taking the fight on the inside, Laurente is coming off an impressive sixth-round TKO victory over Tadashi Yuba this past December.

The hard-hitting Jackson, meanwhile, is eleven years younger than Laurente and holds a record of 19-2 with 15 knockouts.

Premier Boxing Champions is run by Floyd Mayweather's influential adviser Al Haymon who is currently being sued by Bob Arum's Top Rank and Oscar De La Hoya for $400 million.

Laurente will host a media workout on Tuesday (Wednesday PHL time) at One Punch Boxing Gym in Apoka, Florida. —JST, GMA News
