Keanu Reeves, Mark Wahlberg send well-wishes to Pacquiao anew

Hollywood stars Keanu Reeves and Mark Wahlberg have once again sent their well-wishes to Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, ahead of the senator's fight against American Adrien Broner in Las Vegas on Sunday morning (PHL time).

Long-time supporters of the Pinoy champ, the two celebrities have in the past shown their support for Pacquiao, even personally visiting him and watching him train.

In a report on Balitanghali, Mariz Umali said while Wahlberg and Reeves could no longer personally visit Pacquiao this time, the two nevertheless still sent their messages via Facetime.

In 2009, Wahlberg had said in an interview how Ricky Hatton was in for a tough match with Pacquiao during the two boxers' fight in Manila. Then in 2015, Wahlberg visited Pacquiao to personally watch the boxer train for his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Also in 2015, Reeves also paid Pacquiao a visit ahead of his bout with Mayweather.

Past his prime?

In Mariz's exclusive interview with the senator on Saturday, Pacquiao said his motivation to fight shows his passion for the sport.

"Boxing is my passion and public service is my mission," he added.

Asked about the talks on whether he's already past his prime, Pacquiao answered, "I'll just keep my mouth shut and answer with my works. Let my works answer their questions."

A winner of eight world titles already, Pacquiao is scheduled to defend his title against Broner in Las Vegas, Nevada tomorrow. — with Kaela Malig/MDM, GMA News
