Eumir Marcial dropped thrice, wins disputable stoppage in Las Vegas

Olympic bronze medalist Eumir Marcial was dropped thrice but escaped with a disputable stoppage over Isiah Hart in his second professional bout on Sunday at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas, USA.

Marcial, 26, was sent for a trip to the canvas with a clean right straight from Hart in the opening round. Marcial came out guns blazing in round two but was caught with another right hand between his punches that dropped him.

Marcial managed to beat the count, only to get caught with yet another right straight that dropped him for the third time after throwing a left straight to the body. Marcial survived the round and finally found his tempo in the next couple of rounds.

The Filipino was on the attack in rounds three and four throwing combinations to the head and body. A clubbing left hand on top from Marcial gave Hart wobbly legs, though still on his feet, the referee stepped in to halt the contest at the 0:47 mark of round four.

The win improved Marcial's professional boxing record to 2-0 with one knockout while Hart fell to 6-3-1 with four knockouts.
