Tyson Fury calls out Francis Ngannou, proposes fight in a cage with 4oz gloves
Reigning WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has called out former UFC heavyweight world champion Francis Ngannou for a boxing match.
The 36-year-old Ngannou, 17-3 as a mixed martial artist, recently parted ways with the UFC after negotiations for a contract renewal fell apart.
“Francis Ngannou, I know you are out of contract with the UFC. You want to earn some big boy money? Come see The Gypsy King and let us do a big, big fight for the baddest MF on the planet,” Fury said in an interview with Seconds Out Boxing.
Fury, an undefeated professional boxer who holds a record of 33-0-1 with 24 knockouts, last saw action against Derek Chisora in December where he won by way of tenth-round technical knockout.
To spice things up, the heavyweight champion proposed a different approach for a prospective fight against Ngannou.
“Let us kick it up spicy, in a cage, four-ounce gloves, under Queensberry, and let’s have a badass referee like Iron Mike Tyson. Oh, did I just sell that to the world?” Fury proposed.
