Over 4,000 people ran the half marathon Sunday morning at the Run United 1 and marked the first time so many runners ran in that category in the country. Coach Rio dela Cruz said the slots for the 21-kilometer run were also the first category that got filled. "With Run United 1, we ran out of 21K slots a full week before the end of the registration period," said  the head of RunRio, organizer of the run. There was also a 500-meter dash for kids so children would acquire early on the healthy lifestyle habits that go with regular running. The half marathon starting line was in the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and the finish was at the Mall of Asia. A full marathon of 42.195 kilometers has been set for October 28 – the first ever for Run United. But before that marathon, there will be two more Run Uniteds – on June 17 and September 16. — ELR, GMA News
