Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao placed 33rd, while golf star Tiger Woods was the highest-ranked athlete at 12th, on Forbes magazine's list of 100 Most Powerful Celebrities, along with 16 other sports luminaries. The Sarangani congressman outranked rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., who was adjudged the 57th place. The list, which was posted on Forbes.com on Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time) is "based on entertainment-related earnings plus media visibility (exposure in print, television, radio and online)," the site said. Woods earned $58 million despite an up-and-down golf season and had a money rank of 20, a TV/radio rank of 6, a press rank of 4, a web rank of 25, and a social rank of 45. A pair of NBA superstars followed, with the Miami Heat's LeBron James placing 15th, and Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant finishing 27th. Tennis icon Roger Federer, British football legend David Beckham, and Pacquiao landed from 31st to 33rd respectively, with Peyton Manning (NFL - 40th), Cristiano Ronaldo (Football - 44th), Rafael Nadal (Tennis-47th), Phil Mickelson (Golf - 48th), and Lionel Messi (Football - 50th), rounding up the top 50. Mayweather garnered the 52nd spot, ahead of Tom Brady (NFL - 60), the sole baseball player, Alex Rodriguez (63rd), and wrestler/actor The Rock (70th). A trio of women then brought up the rear, with tennis star Maria Sharapova as the highest-placing female athlete, 71, ahead of rivals Serena Williams (77th), and Li Na (87th). - AMD/RSJ, GMA News
