UAAP: DLSU ahead in general championship tally in 1st semester

De La Salle University leads the UAAP standings in the general championship tally in the first semester of Season 75, while UST is close second.
 
La Salle accumulated a total of 152 points after winning the Women's Taekwando and Women's Table Tennis events. They also got second place in Women's Basketball, Men's Taekwando, Men's Swimming, and Men's Table Tennis. The Taft athletes increased their tally some more by finishing third in Men's and Women's Badminton, Women's Beach Volleyball, and Women's Swimming. 
 
University of Santo Tomas came in second with 144 points after winning the Women's Beach Volleyball, Men's Taekwando, Men's Table Tennis, and the Men's and Women's Judo crowns.
 
Battling for third are the University of the Philippines with 108 and the Ateneo with 107. UP took home the top prize in Women's Swimming and finished second in Women's Table Tennis, Men's and Women's Judo. Ateneo, on the other hand, leaned on their first place finishes in Men's Basketball, Women's Badminton, and Men's Swimming, as well as second place trophies in Men's Badminton and Women's Swimming.
 
Rounding up the list are Far Eastern University with 93 points, National University with 71, University of the East with 57, and Adamson University with 51.
Still to be played in the second round are Volleyball, Tennis, Fencing, Chess, Baseball, Softball, Athletics, and Football.
 
UST has won 18 of the last 19 overall championship crowns, except in Season 60 when UP bagged the prize. The Tigers have won the most in the Senior's division with 39. — LBG, GMA News
