UAAP: 2 FEU Tamaraws nabbed for drug possession
Two Far Eastern University Tamaraws were taken into police custody Wednesday after being caught with what is suspected to be marijuana near their campus in Manila. Police arrested Anthony Hargrove Jr. and Adam Mohammed after seeing them act suspiciously while smoking along Nicanor Reyes Street near the FEU campus in Manila, radio dzBB reported Wednesday afternoon. Seized from the two were what suspected are marijuana sticks, as well as sachets containing dried marijuana leaves, the report said. Both players were then brought to the MPD Station 4 in the city's Sampaloc district. They face charges for violating the Comprehensive Anti-Drugs Act. Hargrove made his UAAP debut last season and averaged 7.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Mohammed on the other hand, is currently serving residency. Under Republic Act 9165, also known as the comprehensive dangerous drugs act of 2002, the penalty for possession could range from 12 years and one day to 20 years in jail, as well as a fine of Php 300,000 to Php 400,000.
