NCR dominates 2014 Palarong Pambansa

Athletes from Metro Manila topped this year's Palarong Pambansa, which ended Saturday in Sta. Cruz province in Laguna.

The Metro Manila contingent dominated this year's edition of the national games, winning 107 gold medals, 64 silvers, and 56 bronzes, GMA News TV's "News to Go" reported.

Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) was a far second with 38 golds, 51 silvers and 51 bronzes. Western Visayas was third with 32 golds, 33 silvers and 38 bronzes.

Rounding out the top five placers were Cordillera with 24 golds, 11 silvers and 12 bronzes; and Region 10 with 21 golds, 21 silvers and 31 bronzes. - Joel Locsin / AMD, GMA News
