Marlon "Marvelous" Manalo's decision to skip the second leg of the Guinness Asian 9-Ball Tour could pay dividends for the Filipino cue master. Based on results posted on azbilliards.com, Manalo has reached the winners' bracket quarterfinals of the 2007 Seminole Florida Pro Tour Stop being held at the Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbour in Florida. The Mandaluyong City-based former Philippine national team mainstay defeated John Trelevas (7-2), Chen-Man Lee (7-3) and Hunter Lombardo (7-3), on his way to arranging a face-off with Nathan Rose in the last-8 round. Manalo is set to meet the winner between Corey Deuel and Danny Harriman if he wins over Rose. The remaining players out of the 64-man field in the winners' bracket are Dennis Hatch who is set to meet Tony Chohan while Dave Grossman will face Will Bibrey. Manalo has decided not to play in the second leg of the Guinness 9-Ball tour set on May 18 to 20 in Kaoshiung, Taiwan in order for him to compete in his commitments in the US pool circuit. - GMANews.TV
