Ateneo beats San Sebastian, 75-73, in Nike basketball

The Ateneo de Manila University edged San Sebastian College, 75-73, to post a sweep in Group C of the 2007 Nike Summer League basketball tournament at the Far Eastern University Gym on Wednesday. Chris Tiu joined forces with Rabeh Al Hussaini and Jai Reyes to lead the Norman Black-mentored Eagles to their fifth straight win in the tournament, according to official results sent to media organizations. Tiu, a 5'-11" find from Xavier School, topscored with 15 points, while 6'-7" Al Hussaini added 11, and 5'-9" Reyes contributed 10 points each for the Quezon City-based team. Jim Viray and Jimbo Aquino carried the fight for the Stags with 17 and 16 points, respectively. In the other seniors games, San Beda College-Manila downed sister school San Beda College-Alabang, 93-67, and Adamson University subdued Don Bosco Technical College, 85-57. Jerome Villanueva made 22 points for the Red Lions, who posted their first win in three games. Marvin Antonio and Eric Saguitan added 16 and 14 points, respectively. - GMANews.TV
