Joshua Pacio set to defend world title vs. Hayato Suzuki in Jakarta

MANILA—Reigning ONE Strawweight champion Joshua Pacio of Baguio City's Team Lakay will make the first defense of his world title against Hayato Suzuki in the main event of 'ONE: Eternal Glory' on January 19 at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Pacio, 22, is riding a four-fight win streak and holds a mixed martial arts record of 13-2. He dethroned Yoshitaka Naito in his last outing by unanimous decision, and is looking to keep the belt in the mountains of Baguio for a long time.

Suzuki, meanwhile, is coming off a first round submission victory against Pongsiri Mitsatit of Thailand. He defeated Pacio by rear-naked choke in the opening round in 2017, and aims to repeat the success in their upcoming rematch.

Pacio and Suzuki are tasked to battle for a grueling five five-minute round contest inside the cage. —LBG, GMA News
