RP beats Cambodia, 14-0, in SEA Games baseball
The Philippine men's baseball team won its second game at the 24th Southeast Asian Games, beating Cambodia, 14-0, on Monday at the Queen Sirikit Sports Center in Pathum Thani province in Thailand. The Filipino made their runs from third to the sixth inning â 7-3-2-2 â leaving their rivals scoreless, according to results posted at the SEA Games official website. In the other baseball game on Monday, Indonesia defeated Malaysia, 24-0. In their first game last Friday (December 6), the Filipinos â defending SEA Games champs in this sport â overwhelmed Malaysia, 31-0, in the six-team round-robin tournament. The Filipinos chalked up their 31 runs in 21 hits in five innings â 4-5-9-10-3. The Philippine baseball team, which is managed by Hector Navasero is composed of Darwin dela Calzada (pitcher), Junnifer Pinero (catcher), Alejandro Velasquez (first base), Ruben Angeles (second base), Christian Canlas (shortstop), Nino Tator (third base), Roel Empacis (left field), Jonash Ponce (center field), Roel Empacis (right field), and Virgilio Roxas (designated hitter).
