AFC Challenge Cup: PHL Azkals 3-1 vs. Palestine at halftime

At halftime in the battle for third place in the 2012 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup, the Philippines had a 3-1 edge over Palestine. Phil Younghusband started the scoring off an Angel Guirado pass 3 minutes into the match. Abdelhamid Abuhabib brought the game equal for Palestine into the 20th minute, but the deadlock only lasted four minutes after Younghusband converted a penalty kick from a hard tackle by Ahmed Harbi on Chieffy Caligdong.

 

Roaring to end the halftime with a comfortable lead, Juan Luis Guirado almost scored the Philippines 3rd goal in the 33rd minute from a free kick by Younghusband, but the defender's brother Angel accomplished the lead after beating keeper Ramzi Saleh up close before the half's end. — with Ronin Bautista/ELR, GMA News
