Azkals Development Team mauls Mendiola FC to claim last Copa Paulino Alcantara semis slot

The Azkals Development Team claimed the last semifinals spot in the Copa Paulino Alcantara after pulling off a flawless 9-0 drubbing against Mendiola FC at the PFF Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

The young Azkals came up with their best game in the prestigious Cup tournament as they finished their preliminary campaign with a 1-0-1 win-draw-loss card, booking a semis date against Group A top seed Stallion Laguna FC on November 16.

After a 16 minute tug-of-war, ADT skipper Jarvey Gayoso converted a penalty kick past Mendiola goalkeeper Michael Asong that sparked a fiery run from in the first half.

Dennis Chung extended their lead in the 30th minute, before Gayoso and defenders Mar Diano and Christian Rontini unleashed three consecutive goals that put them to a 5-0 lead at the half.

They never looked back after that as they secured their place in the next round.
