Elite runners Muge, Magtubo top Clark Half Marathon

Elite runners Gilbert Muge and Edna Magtubo ruled the 21K races of the Clark City Half Marathon held on August 23 at Filinvest Mimosa in the Clark Freeport Zone.

Muge clocked 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 23 seconds to win the men’s 21K, pulling away from Edwin Kiptoo (1:11:55) and James Kevin Cruz (1:12:02).

Magtubo, meanwhile, topped the women’s 21K in 1:21:00, followed by Pamela Chepkoech Bundotich (1:24:13) and Arlyn Joyce Akangan (1:28:08).

Alfrence Braza topped the men’s 10K in 33:24, followed by Junel Gobotia (34:04) and Bong Sentillas (34:12). Jessa Mae Roda led the women’s 10K in 46:48, with Pauline Abril-Tabiara (51:43) and Leira Monton (54:36) completing the top three.

Fritz Angelo Operio won the men’s 5K in 15:29, while Kaye Villanueva clocked 19:39 to finish first in the women’s race.

The PUMA Philippine Half Marathon Series will hold its next legs in Cagayan de Oro on September 6 and Manila on October 11.
