Carl Santos-Ocampo played like his back was against the wall to jump from the bottom to a share of seventh place after the second round of the PGM CCM Rahman Putra Masters, now bannered by Malaysian Iain Steel and Japanese Mitsuhiko Hashizume, at the Rahman Putra Golf Club in Selangor on Thursday. [Related: Three-under-par Edward Reyes turning heads at Rahman Putra Masters] Steel carded six birdies to negate two late bogeys for another four-under-par 68 while Hashizume scored on a five-under-par 67, built on a superb 32 at the turn, to push themselves to the joint leadership with 136. Local bet R. Nachimuthu, the erstwhile co-leader, turned in a 70 for 137 and solo third spot. Singapore's Mardan Mamat, who tied the Malaysian, limped with a 74 for 141. Santos-Ocampo, who previously won a single leg in the domestic ICTSI-Philippine Golf Tour, eagled the par-four No. 17 to finish the last nine with a 33, the same with his outward stint for a sizzling six-under-par 66, to sit on a total of 140 halfway through the $65,000 Asian Development Tour (ADT) tournament. The Filipino was bunched at eighth place with countryman James Lam, who had a two-under-par 70.  Edward Reyes, who came through with a opening 69, struggled to a two-over-par 74 to be on 143 but was on the safe side of the cut off score. Mike Bibat (79-155), Jet Mathay (79-158), Miguel Ochoa (79-159), and Quino Baterna (88-172) missed the weekend rounds.  Glenn de Leon, who had an 81 Wednesday, withdrew even before the second round of ADT's season opener started. - AMD, GMA News
