Mei Yamaguchi batters Jomary Torres in Malaysia

MANILA - Filipina mixed martial arts fighter Jomary Torres suffered her second consecutive defeat following a unanimous decision loss against Mei Yamaguchi on the undercard of "ONE: Destiny of Champions" Friday night at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 35-year-old Yamaguchi was a step ahead over Torres throughout the three-round fight. The veteran Japanese MMA fighter repeatedly landed her trademark right hand, utilized her wrestling takedowns to tame Torres for three rounds.

Torres was simply outmatched both on the ground and on their feet, as she offered close to little or no resistance in everything that Yamaguchi attempted inside the cage.

After three five-minute rounds, all three judges scored the fight for Yamaguchi. She improved her record to 18-11-1 while Torres fell to 4-2. — DVM, GMA News
