Team Lakay head coach expresses disappointment in Brave CF following controversy in Bahrain

Team Lakay's head trainer Mark Sangiao did not hold back in expressing his disappointment following a controversial decision that surrounded his young fighter Jeremy Pacatiw last Saturday at Brave CF 29.

Pacatiw shared the cage with Ali Qaisi where the Filipino dominated the fight with his striking and grappling defense.

Qaisi managed to score takedowns here and there, but was never able to secure dominant position, score strikes nor did he ever come close to getting a submission.

But to everyone's surprise, all three judges saw the fight for Qaisi after three five-minute rounds.

"Lutong Bahrain," Sangiao quipped.

"What I hate the most is when our athlete gets exploited. This athlete trained so hard and is taking care of his career, then that's all they're going to do? It's not professional," he added.

"Let's also consider all those people in the background like sponsors. Lots of people sacrifice then that's going to be the judgment. It's disappointing."

And just like the audience, it was also crystal clear for Sangiao who the rightful winner was even before the official decision was announced.

"I watched Jeremy score points during the fight. He was taken down yet it was him throwing punches from the ground. We know the scoring system, we are not new to this sport," Sangiao stressed.

Moving forward, Sangiao plans to think twice before sending any of his fighters to Bahrain.

"What's the point in all of our hardships is this is what they're going to do? They have to be professional," he pointed out.

"How can they make people believe, how can they grow if this is what they do? They have to fix all of these. If this is going to be the case, they should stop having Team Lakay compete in Bahrain." — LA, GMA News
