Ateneo student to face OG team captain N0tail in 1v1 Dota 2 match

A Filipino Dota 2 player from the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) is set to go head-to-head with the team captain of two-time TI champions OG in a 1v1 match this month.

Zedrik “Jeff” Dizon, who won Red Bull’s 2020 R1v1r Runes Philippines tournament held this May, is set to face the captain of team OG Johan “N0tail” Sundstein in a "Civil War” event happening on July 20 (Monday).

The stakes are most definitely high as N0tail led team OG to becoming the first Dota 2 crew in history to win a back-to-back championship at the esport's biggest tournament, The International (TI), in 2018 and 2019.

Red Bull R1v1r Runes, on the other hand, takes places on a custom map built in the Dota 2 environment and pits players in a fast-paced 1-versus-1 mirror battle.

Regional qualifiers were held across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao and gathered Dota 2 players around the country to compete in 1v1 matches.

Dizon, who debuted during the Luzon qualifier, emerged as the 2020 R1v1r Runes Champion with a score of 4 – 0, and a set win of 100%.
