Kristel Macrohon adds two bronzes to PH haul in Asian Weightlifting Championships

The Philippines continued to bag medals in the Asian Weightlifting Championships as Kristel Macrohon won two bronzes in the women's 76-kg category on Thursday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Macrohon won her second bronze after placing third overall in the category with a total lifted weight of 225 kg. China's Zhang Wangli topped the tournament with 263 kg, while South Korea's Kim Suhyeon claimed the silver with 244 kg.

Macrohon's best attempt at the clean and jerk with 126 kg was enough for her to get a bronze in the said round. Her snatch record was at 99 kg.

. Earlier in the tourney, Elreen Ando won two silvers and a bronze, while Mary Flor Diaz won three silvers.

Hidilyn Diaz, who settled for fourth in the 55-kg category, officially qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to her participation in the Asian championships.
