Former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang is raring to strut his wares to the Filipino-American audience when he takes on Shinya Aoki at ONE on TNT IV on April 29.

“It’s an added motivation for me. I have many friends and fellow kababayans in the United States who are eager to watch me fight,” said Folayang.

“I’m proud to get the chance to compete in front of American fans as well. It’s an important event and fight, for sure.”

The fight is slated to take place in Singapore in the morning and will air on US primetime, available on Bleacher Report, B/R Live, and TNT.

Folayang, touted as the face of Philippine mixed martial arts, lost 4 of his last 5 fights and is 1-1 with the Japanese legend.

“This is one of the most important bouts of my career, so I’m really focused on claiming the victory.”

Knowing that Filipinos in his home country and the US would tune in to watch his next fight, Folayang vowed that he would leave no stone unturned to muster a win on fight day

“I know the fans will always be behind me no matter what, and for that, I am very grateful. I will do my best to get my hands raised when all is said and done.” – RC, GMA News
