Bren, Execration arrange lower bracket semis date

Bren Esports and Execration dispatched their respective opponents in the lower bracket to arrange a semifinals showdown and reach the Top 4 teams of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 7 on Friday.

Bren was the first to take center stage as they gutted it out against Work Auster Force. The two teams split the first two games of their series, 1-1.

But Bren bared its fangs in Game 3 as Karl "Karltzy" Nepomuceno led the rampage with a 7-0-5 KDA on the Benedetta, finishing Work at the 12th minute to take the lead, 2-1.

It was pretty much the same in Game 4 as Bren took control early on, scoring a 3-0 kill lead by the 4th minute and posting a 3k gold lead by the 6th minute.

KarlTzy was again flawless with Benedetta, scoring a 12-0-2 KDA to help Bren take the series-clinching win in 12 minutes.

Meanwhile, Execration had to weather a gutsy Omega Esports squad that pushed them to the limit before coming out the victor in a grueling five-game series, 3-2.

Execration seemed to have pulled ahead in Game 5 as they took a 6-4 kill lead by the 8th minute, with a 3k gold lead and taking down five Omega turrets while surrendering none.

A lord take in the 13th minute helped Execration take down all inhibitor turrets but Omega stayed resilient and managed to fend off the final push to stay alive in the series.

A skirmish at the lord area led to a lord take by Execration but Omega countered by taking down four members of the opposition.

As if by de ja vu, Earvin "Heath" Esperanza (Silvana) executed a lord steal in the 24th minute but Omega lost three members in the ensuing clash. This proved to be costly as Execration easily took down the enemy base with only two defenders left for the last stand.

Bren and Execration face each other at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, after the 4 p.m. upper bracket duel between Aura and Blacklist.
