Blacklist completes sweep of group stages, reaches upper bracket semis

Blacklist International joined fellow Philippine representative Execration in the upper bracket after a 2-0 sweep of Impunity KH in the group stage of the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2021 on Tuesday.

It was another methodic win for the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines defending champion, who also swept MPL Indonesia runner-up Bigetron Alpha on Monday.

Blacklist led the early goings of Game 1 after taking a 4k gold lead by the 5th minute on the back of a 5-0 kill with Danerie "Wise" Rosario (Bruno) posting a 2-0-1 KDA.

But Impunity fought back in the 8th minute with a wipe out of the Bon Chan-mentored squad in the 8th minute courtesy of a WIGHTNITE (Yi Shun Shin) triple kill.

The Tier One-backed squad, however, quickly countered with a turtle take in the 9th minute that touched off a 2-0 skirmish and ending the clash with a turret push in the top lane.

Wise then completed an 11th minute maniac kill streak in a clash in the lord area that was the final objective leading to a Blacklist victory, 1-0.

Impunity then opted to use the Diggie Strategy in Game 2 that put the game to a standstill until the mid-game, with Impunity utilizing the vision provided by Diggie to choke up Blacklist's map control.

Blacklist slowly took the upper hand though with timely pickoffs in the sidelane and established a 3k gold lead by the 8th minute.

A 10th minute clash in the lord area led to a 4-3 exchange in favor of Blacklist but the Cambodian team successfully secured the lord take as a result.

Blacklist needed a 15th minute lord take to finally finish off their gutsy counterparts and take their seat in the upper bracket semi-finals.

They will face the top team from Group A in the next round on Thursday.
