Execration suffers reverse sweep vs EVOS, slips into lower bracket

Execration suffered a reverse sweep at the hands of EVOS Legends of Indonesia, 2-1, to relegate themselves into the lower bracket of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asian Cup (MSC) 2021 on Friday.

Execration, who crawled back from deep in the lower bracket of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 7 to reach the grand finals, will look to duplicate the feat starting with Impunity KH of Cambodia in the next round for a ticket into the lower bracket finals.

EVOS Legends made their presence felt early in Game 1 as LJ's jungle invasions made things complicated for Kiel "Kielvj " Harnandez (Claude) leading to a 4th minute 2k gold lead as the Indonesian champs posted a 6-1 kill advantage.

But Duane "Kelra" Pillas (Lunox) spearheaded the resurgence of Execration with an 8th minute double kill  in the top lane that shutdown Perdyansyah "Ferxiic" Kamaruddin (Brody).

Execration then completed a 5-0 wipeout in the 11th minute behind Kelra's triple kill to go up 1-0. Kelra finished with a flawless 9-0-4 KDA in Game 1.

Execration opted to go for the Aldous hypercarry in Game 2 that surprisingly led to a good early game as the MPL Philippines Season 7 runner-ups took the turtle in the 5th minute after an easy pickoff.

It looked like Execration had the game on after taking the lord in the 12th minute and scoring a 4-2 sweep. But Maxhill "Antimage" Leonardo had other plans as he kept Execration at bay together with the lord, surviving in a 1-on-3 clash that turned the game around for the Indonesian champs.

Antimage then delivered a triple kill in the 14th minute clash that helped EVOS force a do-or-die Game 3. He finished with a monster 9-0-5 KDA.

With a winner take all Game 3, EVOS brought their A-game and mirrored Execration in Game 2 with the Aldous hypercarry.

The Indonesians were in control for most parts of the match until a 3-1 takedown in favor of Execration that gave some breathing room in the 12th minute.

But EVOS could not be outdone as they kept the pressure on and finished the match in the 21th minute to arrange an upper bracket finals showdown against MPL Philippines champion Blacklist International.
