The Philippines just found another new hero in Alex Eala.

The Pinay tennis sensation on Saturday, together with her partner Oksana Selekhmeteva, ruled the 2021 French Open juniors doubles to scoop her second Grand Slam title in the girls division.

The gutsy Filipina-Russian tandem trounced the duo of Russia’s Amarissa Toth and Hungary’s Maria Bondarenko of Hungary, 6-0, 7-5, to close an unscathed Roland Garros run.

And the Rafa Nadal scholar couldn't help but to give tribute to her roots, who's commemorating the country's 123rd Independence Day today, as she gave her speech.

"Sa lahat ng mga Pinoy na nanonood, maraming salamat sa suporta," the 16-year-old ace said.

"It's actually (the) Independence Day today so I hope I made my contribution to the country."

The hard-fought victory sealed Eala's second juniors grand Slam title after she dominated the 2020 Australian Open juniors doubles with Indonesian partner Priska Nugroho.
