JRU's Emie Fernandez cops women’s finweight gold in NCAA 96 speed kicking | NCAA Philippines

Emie Fernandez of Jose Rizal University ruled another event as she topped the field in the NCAA Season 96 women’s finweight division in speed kicking.

Previously, the JRU taekwondo jin also won the NCAA Season 96 poomsae standard competition.

Fernandez scored a 7.008 in the competition to take the gold while Arellano University’s Catherine Joy Vicente (6.633) and San Beda University’s Nicole Anne Calasar (6.608) took the second and third places, respectively.

The women’s finweight competition had a field of nine competitors, which included Arellano’s Mikee Medina and San Sebastian College-Recoletos’ Keith Laura Baladya, who both notched identical 6.542 scores.

College of Saint Benilde’s Joselle Daguinod, San Beda’s Claire Ysshabelle Blanco, Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s Jacey Rain Bartolome and Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Chelsea Marie Banez comprised the rest of the competition.
