Team Spirit wins $18M prize at The International Dota 2 championship
The tenth The International (TI) Dota 2 tournament has come to a close, and this year's Aegis of Champions is hoisted by Team Spirit.
The Eastern European squad claimed victory after an intense best-of-5 Grand Final against PSG.LGD in Bucharest, Romania this weekend.
Apart from making Dota 2 history, the pro-gamers are walking away with the $18,208,300 prize in their bank accounts.
Team Spirit pulled a 2-1 upset against Team Secret to go head-to-head with PSG.LGD, who only lost two games on their way to the grand finals.

Earlier on in the tournament, Team Spirit also ousted two-time world champions Team OG who won the TI in 2018 and 2019 consecutively.

The International is considered to be the world’s biggest and most prestigious Dota 2 event on the Major Championship circuit.
