ONE title fight between Fernandes and Lineker postponed as challenger tests positive for COVID-19

The highly-anticipated matchup between ONE bantamweight world champion Bibiano Fernades and former UFC fighter John Lineker will have to wait a bit longer as the fight got postponed after the latter tested positive for COVID-19.

Fernandes and Lineker were scheduled to headline the main event of ONE: Bad Blood this Friday, February 11 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium but the fight had to be called off after the positive test result.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the fight between me and John Lineker has been postponed,” Fernades wrote on a now-deleted Instagram post.

“Unfortunately John Lineker tested positive for COVID-19 and is unable to fight at this time. I wish him a full and quick recovery.”

With Fernandes and Lineker out of the picture, the ONE interim heavyweight title showdown between Anatoly Malykhin and Kirill Grishenko has been bumped up to the main event. The pair will clash in a five five-minute round contest.
