RSG ends runs of futility against NXPE, scores opening sweep

RSG Philippines opened their season in grand fashion with a 2-0 sweep of Nexplay Evos in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 9 on Saturday.

It was another revenge story as RSG finally solved the NXPE puzzle after succumbing to a 3-0 loss in the Season 8 playoffs and a 3-1 loss during the recently concluded Sibol qualifiers. RSG also lost both regular season series in Season 8 via a 2-0 shutout.

NXPE took the upper hand by the 7th minute in Game 1, taking a 10-4 lead with a 3k gold lead on the back of John Paul “H2wo” Salonga's (Paquito) 1-0-6 KDA.

But RSG stopped them in their tracks, preventing NXPE from scoring further kills the rest of the way to complete the comeback win, 1-0.

RSG did not let up in Game 2 as they completely shutdown NXPE en route to a 12-3 kill domination in 21mins.

Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto (Lancelot) led the way with a 5-2-6 KDA while Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Clint) provided ample support with a 4-0-4 KDA.
