Hidilyn Diaz cosplays Encanto's 'Luisa' in birthday photo shoot

The Philippines' first Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz is making sure that her birthday this year is special.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Diaz wrote about how she wanted to celebrate her birthday this year.

Wearing a pink dress, Hidilyn channeled her inner Luisa Madrigal, a character from the Disney movie "Encanto," in a photoshoot with her fiancee and conditioning coach Julius Naranjo.

"I want my 31st birthday to be extra special," she wrote in the caption of her post. "I [have] been celebrating my birthday outside the country since 2019, it’s my first time again to celebrate my birthday with friends, family, and fans."

"Life is beautiful, keep smiling, and inspiring," she said.

Diaz, for sure, had a memorable last year as she did not just win the country's first Olympic gold medal, but she also got engaged with Naranjo.

Diaz' fellow Olympians also greeted the weightlifter on her special day.

Silver medalist Nesthy Petecio wrote a short but sweet message for Diaz.

Taekwondo athlete Kurt Barbosa also posted a greeting for Diaz.
