Christine Hallasgo plucks silver in SEA Games women's marathon

Filipina marathoner Christine Hallasgo settled for silver medal in the women's marathon event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games on Thursday at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Hallasgo finished second by clocking two hours, 56 minutes, and .07 seconds behind gold medalist Odekta Naibaho Elvina of Indonesia who registered the fastest time of two hours, 55 minutes, and 28 seconds.

Ngoc Hoa Hoang Thi of host Vietnam, meanwhile, got the bronze medal after tallying two hours, 57 minutes, and 35 seconds.

With her latest feat, Hallasgo fell short of defending her title after ruling the same event during the 2019 edition where she dethroned compatriot Mary Joy Tabal.
