EJ Obiena to miss two tournaments due to COVID-19

Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena will miss two competitions abroad after contracting COVID-19.

In an Instagram story on Tuesday, Obiena said he would be missing the Oslo Bislett Games on June 16 and the Meeting de Paris on June 18.

He then specified in a short video that he had COVID-19. "The reason why I'm missing those two competitions unfortunately is COVID. I contracted COVID a few days ago and I'm quarantining right now, here in Formia, at home," he said.

Asia's top pole vaulter will then compete in Taby Stavhoppgsgala in Sweden on June 28 and Bauhaus Galan in Stockholm on the 30th.
