Onic youngbloods conquer Bren in battle of new look rosters

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

Onic Philippines played beyond their years as the young squad took a 2-1 win over M2 World Champions Bren Esports in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Saturday.

The three-time MPL runner-up and reigning M3 World Championship runner-up let go of their roster with only Nowee "Ryota" Cabailo retained in an unprecedented exodus of Filipino coaches and players heading overseas.

Despite fielding a roster filled with amateur standouts, Onic played without jitters as they easily took the early game in the opener, establishing a 3k net worth by the 6th minute while taking down all enemy outer turrets.

Ryota (Chou) then provided the much needed pick offs with excellent Way of the Dragon set-ups to help Onic slowly breakdown the two-time MPL champs.

He finished with a perfect 3-0-5 KDA.

Game 2 was different though as Bren found their bearings and went toe-to-toe against the surging youngbloods of Onic.

They clutched their way through a 14th minute lord fight to secure the luminous lord and force a rubber match.

It looked like a reverse sweep was on the way when Bren took a 5k net worth lead by the 7th minute courtesy of a 3-0 kill spread.

But Onic's rookie duo of Stephen "Sensui" Castillo (Julian) and Kenneth "Nets" Barro (Clint) shutdown Bren by tallying eight unanswered kills plus the 15th minute luminous lord.

Onic only conceded another death during the 17th minute base turrret push where they completed the turn around with an 11-4 final kill tally.
