After recovering from early season struggles, RSG's Light shooting for back-to-back Regular Season MVPs

By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

Despite coming off a rousing MLBB Southeast Asian Cup 2022 conquest, RSG Philippines found themselves reeling from two losses via sweeps, settling for a 1-2 card and at the 7th spot to start the season.

But the Raiders showed the heart of a champion as they put together four wins in their next five assignments to catapult into the top two spots in the league standings.

One of the vital tools in RSG's reemergence was Dylan "Light" Catipon's impressive play, which went viral in Week 4 after his solid set-up plays with the Lolita, leaving the casters and audiences in awestruck.

The MPL PH Season 9 MVP credited his teammates for the successful turnaround that RSG made.

"Sa kampi ko rin (kung bakit kami nakabawi) kasi nakikita ko na gusto rin nila bumawi at manalo. Pag ganun kasi nadadamay din ako," he told the press on Friday.

But recovering from the early season hiccups isn't the only thing Light is looking out for.

"Gusto ko ulit mag-MVP ng season. Itatry ko ulit kung kaya," revealed Light about his motivations during the past weeks.

During their 2-0 sweep of Omega, Light took the MVP of the game award in both Game 1 and 2 finishing with 0-1-16 (Lolita) and 1-1-10 (Khufra) KDAs

With the way Light has been playing as of late, it won't be surprising if he achieves his second regular season MVP.
