By JOHN EDISON UBALDO

After starting the season with a 1-4 card, Bren Esports finally made a winstreak going with a 2-1 reverse sweep of Onic Philippines in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Saturday.

It was their third straight win to up their total to 12 points and further widen the gap from the bottom two teams in the race for the playoffs.

Bren hasn't qualified for the playoffs since their fourth place finish in Season 7.

Frince Miguel "SUPER FRINCE" Ramirez continued with his impressive rookie season, propelling Onic to an easy opening win, dropping only one outer turret throughout the game.

With his daunted Valentina pick, he first scored a triple kill during a 10th minute skirmish to lead Onic's 4-0 wipe that they converted into a lord take.

Then during a 15th minute base turret aggression, he missed on a savage but managed to take all five kills in a 5-4 exchange to end the game.

SUPER FRINCE finished with a monster 10-1-6 KDA to take MVP honors. He took his only death during the final team fight.

In Game 2, it was Michael Angelo "KyleTzy" Sayson's time to shine flaunting his prowess on the jungler Paquito on the way to a quick 2-0-2 KDA by the 4th minute to help Bren take a 4-0 kill lead and a 5k lead.

Bren did not concede control of the match from there as their macro early game exploits led to three outer turret takedowns by 7th minute and cruised to an easy 13th minute win, conceding their only death at the final moments of the base turret takedown.

Onic took the first two pickoffs in Game 3 but Stephen "Sensui" Castillo (Balmond) over extended during an 8th minute skirmish, trying to force a kill on a fleeing Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel (Julian) resulting in a 2-0 punish.

With Bren in control, Kenneth "Nets" Barro (Beatrix) and Ralph "Rapidoot" Adrales (Grock) successfully executed a top lane ambush on Pheww in the 16th minute. But the M2 world champions quickly retaliated with a three man gank that KyleTzy capped off with a double kill.

It was all Bren the rest of the way.

Onic has now lost two consecutive matches after starting the season with a blazing 5-1 win-loss card.
