Edson Marques TKOs Eduard Folayang in second round

Edson Marques earned the biggest win in his mixed martial arts career following a second-round technical knockout over former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang on the undercard of ONE on Prime Video 5 this Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Folayang, 39, opened the contest with leg kicks while Marques tried to keep the Filipino at bay with his jab. The Team Lakay superstar was calculated throughout the round as he patiently waited for an opening before letting go of his combinations.

Folayang was on the attack the following round. An exchange of strikes on the side of the cage saw Folayang dropped with a right hand that bounced his face on the mat. The Filipino immediately got up, but the fight was already stopped by the referee at the 2:53 mark of round two.

The TKO loss was Folayang's fifth consecutive defeat in mixed martial arts, dropping his record to 22-13 while Marques moved to 11-2.
