Jhanlo Sangiao to use performance bonus to help his father build new house

By JM SIASAT

Mixed martial arts bantamweight prospect Jhanlo Sangiao plans to use his $50,000 performance bonus to help his father Mark build a new home.

Jhanlo, the eldest son of Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao, is coming off a 58-second submission win over Matias Farinelli this past weekend.

“My father is building a house. I will help him and spend my bonus there. I just want to focus on that for now,” the 20-year-old Sangiao said in an interview on Sparring Sessions.

Sangiao was the first Filipino to earn a performance bonus in ONE Championship when he beat Anacleto Lauron last December and the first to get it back-to-back amounting to 5.5 million pesos.

Sangiao has six professional fights under his belt, has so far won all his three fights in ONE Championship, and only needed 2:46 minutes to earn himself a couple of bonuses.
