Alvin Lobreguito claims gold medal in SEAG wrestling; PHL tally up to 52

Alvin Lobreguito ruled the men's freestyle 57-kg category of the wrestling competitions to clinch a gold medal in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games on Tuesday.

Lobreguito, who had won silver medals in the 2022 and 2019 editions of the biennial meet, finally broke through to win the gold after triumphing in both of his matches in his division.

He defeated opponents Nattawut Kaewkhuhanchum of Thailand and Khac Huy Phung of Vietnam, 3-1.

His gold was the 52nd gold medal for the Philippines in the ongoing SEA Games.
