WADA receives Philippines' dispute on alleged non-compliance with anti-doping code

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Wednesday said it has received the Philippines' dispute on the alleged non-compliance of the organization's code.

In a release, WADA said the country's dispute will be forwarded to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

"On 13 February, WADA received formal notification from the NADO of the Philippines that it disputes the allegations of non-compliance against it. WADA will now refer the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for its consideration. As such, the consequences will not apply until CAS makes its ruling," WADA said in its release.

NADO is the National Anti-Doping Organization of the country.

The alleged non-compliance was based on the country's four non-conformities with the WADA code.

The Philippine Sports Commission was given until February 13 to dispute the said non-conformities. The PSC previously said it was 'nearing closure' on WADA's requirements.

A flag ban in major sporting events such as the Olympics is one of the possible consequences of non-compliance with the WADA code.
