Jho Maraguinot turns pro, joins Perlas Spikers

Former Ateneo de Manila volleyball standout Jho Maraguinot is starting a new chapter in her career.

In a video posted on Facebook, Tuesday, Premier Volleyball League's (PVL) Perlas Spikers welcomed Maraguinot as the newest addition to their team.

The open spiker joined the Lady Eagles in 2015, where they eventually became champions in UAAP Season 77.

She played for the blue and white until 2018, before sitting out her supposed final playing year in 2019. She decided to return for Ateneo's title defense in 2020, but the season was cut due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This will be Maraguinot's first season as a professional player. She will also be one of the new players in the PVL after most teams from rival Philippine Superliga decided to move to the league early this month. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
