Jaja Santiago pays tribute to sister Dindin after historic PVL title: 'My Finals MVP'

Jaja Santiago may have owned most of the spotlight during Chery Tiggo's 2021 PVL Open Conference championship but she was more than willing to share some of that with her older sister, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, who was a crucial piece in their momentous journey.

Santiago was hailed both the Conference and Finals Most Valuable Player awards and was also named as one of the Best Blockers along with PetroGazz' Riri Meneses.

These are on top of their crown that came after they defeated heavyweight Creamline in their best-of-three finals series

.

But Santiago said all this would not have been possible at all if not for Santiago-Manabat.

"To my Finals MVP! I am very proud of the person you have become," the younger Santiago said in an Instagram post Sunday.

"I witnessed all your sacrifices and how you grew as a person. You are truly a mother, sister and a leader to everyone!"

Aside from the 26 points poured by Santiago, a lot of Crossovers' resurgence in the latter part of the grueling match could also be credited to Santiago-Manabat.

The 27-year-old 6-foot-2 open spiker carved out a huge 32 points, while also being effective on the defensive side.

Santiago, currently the team captain, lauded her older sister for being the club's sparkplug when needed most.

"I salute you partner! We’re blessed to play in the same team with the same goal! I love you sis! On to the next Gold!"
