After a grueling 2021 PVL Open Conference bubble, Jema Galanza is asking the public for privacy and respect as she now deals with personal matters.

Her agency, the Virtual Playground (VP), released a statement on Wednesday, first thanking the fans for their unending support for the Creamline open spiker whose team finished as a bridesmaid to champion Chery Tiggo.

The talent agency also made a request to fans to respect Galanza amid the ongoing breakup rumors that involve the former Adamson standout and Choco Mucho setter Deanna Wong.

"On behalf of our talent, Jessica Margaret Galanza, we would like to thank the public for their support on the recently concluded Premier Volleyball League (PVL). We saw her hard work alongside her whole team throughout the season even if they came short for the championship, their sacrifices and your prayers are indeed gold," the statement read.

"We would like to humbly request you to allow her to take her time off to rest and be with her family this post-season. Let us give her the privacy she needs to attend to her personal matters," it added.

Rumors of the couple's breakup have started swirling on social media even prior to the start of the season but both volleyball players remained mum on the issue.

"Jema extends her sincerest gratitude to everyone for your utmost respect as she prays for everyone's safety and healing," it added.

The agency also asked everyone to shift their focus on more important things as the country continues its battle against the COVID-19.

"We encourage everyone to take this time of ECQ to also focus on more important matters instead of rumor mongering not to afflict inconveniences to anyone. Let us focus on our personal physical and mental health." — LA, GMA News
