The Philippine national men's volleyball team, also called Team Rebisco, is set to leave for Thailand on Tuesday night to compete in the Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship from October 8 to 15, the PNVF announced.

The nationals are grouped in tough pool B where they will be pitted against Foolad Sirjan of Iran, Al Arabi of Qatar,  AGMK of Uzbekistan, and powerhouse Diamond Food of Thailand in the preliminary round.

Pool A, meanwhile, is composed of Thailand's Nakhon Ratchasima QminC, Sri Lanka's CEB, Kazakhstan's Burevestnic Almaty, Kuwait's Kazma, and Iraq's South Gas.

The nationals, who will be skippered by John Vic De Guzman, are coming off a long lull due to the pandemic and were only able to reconvene early last month in a bubble camp.

Their last competition was still the 2019 Southeast Asian (Games) where they copped a historic silver medal after dethroning Thailand in the semifinal round.

Meanwhile, their women counterparts, Rebisco and Choco Mucho, will play each other on Wednesday in the classification round.
