Bryan Bagunas, Oita absorb back-to-back losses; Marck Espejo's FC Tokyo falls to Toray

Filipino spikers Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo suffered the same fate on Saturday as both their squads lost to their respective opponents in the 2021 Japan V. League.

Bagunas and Oita Miyoshi fell in straight sets to JT Hiroshima, 25-19, 28-26, 30-28, to record their second consecutive defeat following another straight sets setback against JTEKT over the last weekend.

In the latest loss, Bagunas carved out nine points while Koga Kenta led the squad with 17 markers anchored on 15 attacks, one block, and one ace.

Meanwhile, Espejo and FC Tokyo stumbled as well against Toray Arrows, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18, to drop to 3-8 in the team standings.

Espejo also finished with nine points as FC Tokyo could not follow up their recent victory over JT Thunders last Saturday.

Both Bagunas and Espejo's clubs will return to action on Sunday against the same teams.
