Creamline sweeps BaliPure, Petro Gazz takes down PLDT

The Creamline Cool Smashers and Petro Gazz Angels both remained undefeated after Monday's action in the Premier Volleyball League.

Creamline swept BaliPure, 25-12, 25-21, 25-16, to maintain their immaculate record in two games. Tots Carlos tallied 14 points off nine attacks, three aces, and two blocks, Alyssa Valdez had seven attacks and ten digs while Jia De Guzman had 14 excellent sets. Meanwhile, Patty Orendain registered six points for BaliPure.

Prior to this, Petro Gazz took down the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters in a four-setter, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22, 25-18. Nicole Tiamzon led the Angels with 13 points while MJ Phillips had eight attacks and three blocks. Christine Joy Soyud led PLDT's offense with 12 attacks, three blocks, and two aces.

Creamline and Petro Gazz share the top spot in Pool B with 2-0 cards and are assured of twice-to-beat bonuses in the knockout stage. All Pool B teams, however, will advance to the quarterfinals along with the top four teams of Pool A. The two teams will battle it out for the solo hold of the top spot on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans and the Cignal HD Spikers will face each other at 3 p.m. this afternoon while the Black Mamba-Army and Chery Tiggo will follow at 6 p.m.
